This page was last edited on 18 Octoberat I pity those people who not even caring to read the book and driven by their blind faith. Even under all this adverse circumstances, Gail tries her best to rationalize everything hoping being obedient to Amma is a duty to Guru and will bring her close to God.
I find myself plumbing for the third. Hinduism in particular is saturated with tales of extreme tests and cruel treatment inflicted by gurus upon their disciples in order to measure their faith, strength, and commitment.
The best way is to ignore them. The immediate thoughts that rose in my mind on reading the book are as follows: You are commenting using ho,y Twitter account.
Gayatri Holy Hell
What gayztri world needs right now are atheists. For the average Keralite, a hippie meant a person who did not wash, smoked pot, and indulged in loose sex: Once we realise that, our connect with Amma turns crystal clear with no room for doubt. From the beginning, it is clear that Gail suffers from an extremely negative self-image: There have been determined efforts to dethrone her from her lofty perch, allegations of financial and other misdeeds at her ashrams, but so far none have been proven.

I really liked it not because of the tbe marvel, but because I hope such revelations will be an eye opener for people who have blind faith in the self claimed Godmen of India.
So no doubt it is the sensationalism which sells the book. Kerala has gone into verbal overdrive with shrill accusations from both sides flying across the media and the internet.

But, this is a great cautionary tale for people who are doing the same. Tayatri cannot write a review of this book without praising her courage. There will always be bad people. There were the expected shrill and high decibel claims and counter claims from both sides.

She traces the joly beginnings, then the gradual expansion to big Spiritual empire as accurate as possible. In my opinion,all allegations are fictional and one who has the smallest realization of self, cannot write such nonsense. Like you write,she never intended deeply enough to understand Amma or tred her path.
